FUSE Darebin Event Volunteer

New volunteer opportunities available with the City of Darebin! Meet the Makers Picnic is the key event for the Autumn 2024 iteration of FUSE, the City of Darebin's multi-arts festival. This free outdoor event is scheduled for Saturday 23 March 2024 from 12-5pm and will take place at the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre.
This one-day event celebrates the diversity of Darebin and the local artists and makers who enrich the area including a live music program with produce and beverage showcase. The event is designed to provide a safe and inclusive space for attendees to enjoy great talent, while connecting with local makers.
Volunteers are an integral part of the event staging. They will provide information, support and be the face of the community for the event. We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic and diverse volunteers to join the team. Volunteers will work alongside staff, artists and makers and fellow volunteers.
Activities include:
- assist event day set-up
- assist event attendees with information
- assist with lost children and lost property
- assist artists/ practitioners with their activities
- assist event attendees in the event of emergency proceedings
Skills and attributes include:
- experience working/ volunteering in community settings
- experience with access and inclusion
- enjoys community events and music
- friendly manner and good communication skills
- respects the rights of others
- punctual and reliable

This volunteer role requires volunteers to:
- work in accordance with Darebin City Council's values
- adhere to Darebin City Council's Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures
- work in accordance with the Child Safe Standards
Darebin City Council is a child safe organisation. As part of our volunteer screening process, we require successful volunteers to hold a valid Working with Children Check

Training
Volunteers will be sent an event brief before the event and will receive an induction in person at the start of their volunteer shift.
Time required
The event is scheduled for Saturday 23 March 2024 from 12pm to 5pm. There are two volunteer shifts available: 9am - 1pm or 12.30pm - 4.30pm.
