Six extraordinary young musicians appear with the Preston Symphony Orchestra for the 33rd annual Youth Concerto Competition.

The Preston Symphony Orchestra Youth Concerto Competition 2022 is open to gifted musicians aged 19 and under. Applications opened in April, attracting entrants from across Melbourne and interstate.

The six finalists this year range in age from 9 to 19; each will play a concerto movement by their composer of choice, this year featuring Prokofiev, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Dvorak, Haydn and the twentieth century American composer, Rebecca Clarke. The orchestra is conducted by Gerald Keuneman, OAM.
