Claire Mooney | Connection/Disruption

Matthew Stanton

Connection/Disruption

Artist: Claire Mooney

Artist Statement

Connection/Disruption explores the interplay between wholeness, fragmentation, connection and disconnection through geometric pattern. In many ways, these themes reflect the shape of our lives, over the last few years. A process of collage was used to break up and rearrange printed geometric patterns, to encourage accidental compositions, and to interrupt a natural tendency towards order. The collages were translated into digital drawings that have been installed in the shopfront window. The work divides and interrupts the inner and outer environments, and also connects them by letting the light shine through.
