It’s on again! Bundoora Homestead Art Centre presents The A1 Darebin Art Salon 2023. This is the fourth iteration of this major community art prize and exhibition, which allows local artists and crafters at any stage in their career to exhibit their work in a public art gallery. The A1 Darebin Art Salon is open to all individuals who live, work or study in the City of Darebin. The exhibition celebrates art, creativity and expression within our community! PRIZES Participating artists are eligible to win the following prizes: The Exhibiting Award: The winner of this prize will receive a Solo Exhibition at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre in 2024. Four People’s Choice Awards will be awarded in the following categories: Photography Painting Drawing/printmaking Textile/mixed media JUDGES Uncle Alan Brown | Gunditjmara elder and co-Chair of the Darebin Aboriginal Advisory Committee – DAAC Bala Starr | Director of the La Trobe Art Institute at La Trobe University Sarah Werkmeister | Acting Curator at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre & YOU! The four People’s Choice Awards will be judged by you our community! Voting will be open at the event via QR code & online voting system.

BUNDOORA HOMESTEAD ART CENTRE

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre is a public art gallery for the City of Darebin, housing art, gardens and café on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi wurrung people.

It aims to deliver experiences with art and culture that inspire, challenge and empower our community.

Responsive to the complex history of the site, we provide a space for discussion around the key concerns of our times through our collection, exhibitions, performances, talks and workshops, all showcasing the work of local, national, and international artists.

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre provides disability access including a lift, on-site car parking and is situated within a 10 minute walk to public transport.
