SIGRID MACDONALD - CREATIVE PRODUCER FLOW FESTIVAL AUSTRALIA

Northern Rivers-based Arts Worker & Cultural Cultivator Sigrid Macdonald’s practise targets the intersection of regional Deaf community and culture and the creative arts sector. Sigrid is informed by her own lived experience of deafness in a unique regional Deaf community, as well as a desire for creative pursuits and connection. She seeks to cultivate connections between political, cultural and public spheres in a practise often termed Cultural Mediation. Recent collaborations involve Deaf community members, regional galleries, festivals, artists and arts/cultural organisations, pushing the barriers of audience engagement.

FLOW FESTIVAL

At FLOW Festival, we believe in the power of art to transcend barriers and create meaningful experiences. Through a dynamic program of exhibitions, performances, workshops, and presentations, we create a platform for Deaf and Hard of Hearing artists to share their stories, challenge societal norms, and inspire change. Our festival encourages collaboration, experimentation, and exploration, providing a space where creativity knows no limits. Join us on September 15th-17th as we transform Melbourne into a hub of artistic expression and cultural exchange. Immerse yourself in thought-provoking exhibitions, be captivated by electrifying performances, and engage in interactive workshops led by talented artists. Whether you are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or simply an art enthusiast, FLOW Festival invites you to be part of a truly unique and inclusive experience. Come and be part of our vibrant community, where artistic talent meets diversity, and where the power of creativity knows no boundaries. Explore the world through the eyes of Deaf artists, connect with like-minded individuals, and celebrate the richness of Deaf culture at FLOW Festival Australia. Together, let’s create an unforgettable and transformative experience that will leave a lasting impact on both the artistic landscape and the hearts of our attendees.
