Meet the Makers

Celebrate Darebin’s fabulous local home wine makers, sample homemade wine and chat with the makers themselves.

Presented by FUSE Darebin

Ever been walking the back streets of Darebin and noticed crates of grapes being unloaded into someone’s shed? This time of year is winemaking season, and it's happening in some of our local backyards.

FUSE celebrates all aspects of art and culture, including food and wine. The skills, knowledge and traditions of Darebin’s wine makers are valuable reminders of our journey, and we cherish the character that it adds to our neighbourhoods.

This long running and much-loved community event provides a unique opportunity to sample local wine and hear first-hand stories from the makers themselves. Within a lively, market environment in our beautiful Preston City Hall, this year we have also included a range of stalls from local artisan crafters.

Featuring live demonstrations from local foodies and wrapping up with a winemakers award ceremony, we are excited to present live music by local First Nations singer-songwriter Pirritu and the day will be MCd by our very own and fabulous Masterchef contestant, Elise Pulbrook.

We are proud to present Meet The Makers alongside the official launch of Darebin’s brand new Intercultural Centre, a place where people cultivate mutual respect for each other’s cultures and identities and can equally participate in life.

The launch will showcase a range of activities presented by the centre's current community groups. Be sure to wander next door to be among the centre’s first visitors.

We look forward to seeing you there.
