Festivals in Darebin: A Retrospective

Darebin’s history is steeped in creativity.

From housing an unrivalled number of theatres and picture houses way back in its industrial past, to undertaking one of the most ambitious public art programs in Australia shortly after the City’s incorporation in the 1990s, Darebin has earned an impressive reputation for its commitment to its creative community. Arguably the jewel in the creative crown has been Darebin’s multitude of arts and cultural festivals, enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of residents and tourists alike.

As Darebin comes alive for its newest festival, FUSE, we offer a retrospective exhibition highlighting some of the memorable moments from Darebin's festival history.

Featuring historic images and poster art, this exhibition is a must for anyone who has danced, laughed, sung, explored, partied and delighted in Darebin festivals over the years.
