Teens can hone their poems and learn poetry performance skills and tips with renowned writer Amanda Anastasi’s workshop, the lead up to Teen Poetry Slam.

Young writers of poetry aged 13 – 16 are invited to develop their skills at the Teen Poetry Performance Workshop at Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre.

Historically, poetry has been spoken and performed, as well as written down. This interactive 1.5 hour workshop led by Amanda Anastasi (convener of La Mama Poetica) will boost your confidence to present and perform poetry to a live audience.

Learn ways to express your passions, fears, issues and opinions when composing a piece and learn tips on stage presence and voice projection to perform the works. You may bring a piece you are already working on or just an idea for a poem. Participants are encouraged to apply the tools learned in the workshop at the FUSE Teen Poetry Slam event later that afternoon.

Workshop is FREE, with registrations essential by Wednesday 14 September. Spots are limited.
